SOCIAL MEDIA CHANGING OUR BEHAVIOUR.

 SOCIAL MEDIA CHANGING OUR BEHAVIOUR.

As humans, we have a tendency to seek social validation.

If someone compliments you then you feel happy. Even though most of us falsely believe that we are NOT affected by what others have to say.

At the same time, there are many people, like our saints, who have grown above all those things.

If we see Maslow's hierarchy, then they have achieved 'Self-actualisation which means that they have risen above these things and are not fazed by it.

But, most of us who are common people, seek social validation.

Social media amplifies these things.

If I've worn good clothes and I look good, my hairstyle is very good then will the people around me come and tell me that I look smart?

A very few people will say so. My friends, my close ones that, 'You look like a hero today.'

But in reality, normal people won't tell me.

But after social media has emerged, you get instant validation.

The people you don't even know like your post and comment under it and you feel a sense of happiness that 'People are appreciating me.'

Because of this instant gratification, we put our good photos on Instagram.

On the basis of those likes, we measure our life, that we're doing good in life.

In reality, there will be no difference because of that.

What is happening on Instagram might not be happening in real. In maximum cases, they are polished.

Dr. Logan Jones who is a psychologist, says that

you can't escape social media instantly.

If you are using it regularly, then it can't happen in one day.

If you want to escape it, then you'll have to take steps slowly.

And the first step of this whole process is 'Turning OFF your notifications.'
